Job Title: Accounting Assistant / HR Operations
Compensation: $14 – $16 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant / HR Operations team member to support our finance and human resources departments. This position provides hands-on experience in QuickBooks Online accounting, payroll processing, tax compliance, and HR operations. It’s ideal for someone early in their career or a recent graduate eager to grow in both accounting and HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Support

Enter and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Process accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R).

Reconcile bank accounts and assist with month-end close.

Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Assist with vendor management, invoicing, and billing tasks.
Payroll & Tax Administration

Assist with accurate and timely payroll processing.

Calculate wages, deductions, and benefits in compliance with policies and legal standards.

Prepare and file state and federal payroll tax reports.

Assist with quarterly and annual filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and related forms.

Maintain payroll documentation and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
HR Operations & Compliance

Support HR processes including onboarding, personnel records, and employee documentation.

Help ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.

Assist with benefit administration, PTO tracking, and employee data updates.

Support employee communications and compliance documentation.

Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive employee and company data.
Administrative & Cross-Department Support

Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation requests.

Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required).

2+ years of demonstrated ability to provide detailed-level accounting support (A/P, A/R, and month-end close).

2+ years of transactional accounting experience in a professional setting.

Proficient in QuickBooks Online (Required).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Willingness to follow established policies and procedures.

Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

Real estate accounting experience is a plus but not required.
