A Dallas based company within the payroll, human resources industry is currently looking for a HR/Payroll/Benefits Specialist to join their growing team. This position maintains employee payroll and HR records and ensures that employee time is reported and processed accurately to meet the required deadlines. Salary Rate $11.00 Starting per hour full time.  Great position for a new college graduate. 

Monday – Friday (9:30am-4:00pm) 

REQUIRED: 4 year Bachelor’s Degree, course work in Business, Human Resources, or closely related field. Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook. Must obtain Payroll Certification in 12 months and SHRM-CP in 24 months.

PREFERRED: Bi-lingual speaking, two years of college level course work in business, personnel management, or closely related field. 
 

The ideal candidate will be responsible, but not limited to:

  • Performs duties relative to the corporation’s overall payroll function including the review, correction and approval of data prior to processing paychecks.
        Contact prospective clients and set up appointment for sales team. 
  • Processes and verifies payroll information on a timely basis.
  • Determines that employees are paid at authorized rates and in accordance with approved company policies and IRS regulations.
  • Assists in the data input and preparation required in producing a Lawson bi-weekly payroll, including the issuance of paychecks, direct deposit vouchers/tape and all reports generated by this payroll process. Reviews input data ensuring the correct coding of expense distributions.
  • Prepares on-demand payroll checks as needed. Posts payroll cycles and reconciles to batch totals.
  • Processes check requests and supporting documentation for the remittance of annuities / garnishments / credit union and insurance deductions payable to outside agencies.
  • Performs electronic transmissions as required by agencies.
  • Maintains an accurate filing system of the payroll forms and reports.
  • Responds to all requests for information and telephone inquiries in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Establishes and demonstrates competency in the payroll system and associated applications.
  • Responsible for being cross-trained in all phases of payroll processing for multiple entities.
  • Assists as required with General Accounting functions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned and unrelated duties as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  • Perform a wide variety of responsible clerical, technical, administrative, and office support duties in support of HR
  • Provide answers to questions from employees regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations relating to human resources, respond to employment verification requests, salary and benefit surveys, and other requests
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support; compose and type letters and other correspondence related to assigned human resources programs and activities; prepare a variety of reports including technical reports and status reports pertaining to human resource management programs
  • Coordinate with Team Leaders recruitments, prepare job announcements and advertisements
  • Process personnel action forms and maintain personnel records ensuring timely and accurate
  • Complete and process bi weekly and semi-monthly payroll ensuring accuracy
  • Explain employment benefits and general terms and conditions of employment to employees;
  • Perform a variety of general office support duties
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to build rapport with team members
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word
  • Bi-lingual a plus
