A leading for profit health system has a new ICU Director opportunity to provide leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) and is responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services for a 12 bed CVICU, 8 bed Neuro/Stroke Unit, 16 bed medical unit and 8 bed Surgical unit. The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of Director’s assigned areas. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
• Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing

Qualifications

Education

Required: Academic degree in nursing
Preferred: Bachelors or Masters degree

Experience

Required: 3 Years of progressive Critical Care management experience in an Acute Care hospital environment.

Certifications

Preferred: RN License

IDEAL CANDIDATE
3 years of experience as an ICU Nursing Director in an Acute Care Hospital. Cardiovascular ICU experience a plus. Experience working in a unionized environment a plus. MSN preferred.
